Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Lani mobile application ("Lani", the "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using Lani, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use Lani. By signing up you confirm you meet this age requirement and have authority to enter these Terms.

2. The Service

Lani is a baby tracking and journaling app for parents and caregivers. You can log feedings, diaper changes, sleep, growth, vaccinations, milestones, and journal entries. With Partner Sharing you can sync this data to your partner's device. Lani is provided as a utility for personal use.

3. Account

You may create an account using email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential. Do not share your account with others. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You may close your account at any time from Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete all data, which permanently erases your local and cloud data.

4. Subscriptions (Lani+)

Lani offers a free tier and a paid tier called Lani+. Lani+ unlocks Partner Sharing, the Weekly Summary, home-screen widgets, and an ad-free experience.

Pricing: Monthly $2.99/month, Yearly $24/year (with a 7-day free trial), Lifetime $59.99 one-time purchase.

Auto-renewal: Free trials automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before. Subscriptions then auto-renew at the same price each period until cancelled. Lifetime is a one-time purchase and does not renew.

Cancellation: You can cancel anytime through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Refunds: Refunds are governed by Apple's and Google's standard refund policies. Lani does not process direct refunds.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use Lani for any illegal purpose; reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the app; scrape or extract data through automated means; use Partner Sharing to share access without consent or to monitor anyone without their knowledge; or attempt to bypass any subscription gating.

6. Your content

You own all data you enter into Lani — your baby's logs, photos, notes, journal entries. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display this data only to the extent necessary to provide the app's features (including syncing it to your paired partner's device). We do not claim ownership of your data, do not sell it, and do not use it to train AI/ML models.

7. Not medical advice

Lani is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Information and tracking features are for personal record-keeping only. Always consult a qualified pediatrician or healthcare professional for medical decisions about your child. We are not responsible for any decision you make based on data shown in the app.

8. Service availability

We strive for 99.9% uptime on cloud features but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may temporarily disable cloud sync for maintenance or upgrades. Local data on your device is unaffected by cloud outages.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms or misuse the service. After termination, cloud data is permanently erased; data on your local device is unaffected by account closure unless you also choose to delete it.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

Lani is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantees about reliability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted service. You use the app at your own risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Lani, including data loss, sync failures, or service interruptions. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Lani harmless from any claims, damages, or costs arising from your misuse of the app, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Israel. Any dispute will be resolved in the competent courts of Tel Aviv, Israel, except where local consumer-protection law of your country of residence requires otherwise.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
